GES PES Building Committee Members Announced

At its online meeting on Thursday, July 9, the Region 15 Board of Education voted to establish the Building Committee that will oversee the district's multi-year elementary school construction projects at Gainfield Elementary School and Pomperaug Elementary School.

The committee will provide oversight and guidance throughout the planning, design, and construction phases of the elementary school projects following voter approval of the district's $224 million construction plan.

The Building Committee is comprised of six members of the Board of Education, two community representatives, and two ex-officio district administrators.

* Jason Andrews – Southbury resident and member of the Elementary School Facilities Feasibility Study Committee
* Christine Carver – Middlebury resident and former Superintendent of Bethel Public Schools
* Joshua Smith – Region 15 Superintendent (Ex-Officio)
* Joe Martino – Region 15 Director of Finance and Operations (Ex-Officio)

Project updates, milestones, and opportunities for community engagement will continue to be shared with the public throughout the duration of the project.
