Special Joint Meeting: Region 15 Board of Education & Boards of Finance

On Thursday, March 5, 2026, members of the Region 15 Board of Education and the Middlebury and Southbury Boards of Finance met for a special joint meeting and school tours to review the current conditions of Gainfield Elementary School (GES) and Pomperaug Elementary School (PES) and discuss the proposed school project.

The evening began with a tour of Gainfield Elementary School, followed immediately by a tour of Pomperaug Elementary School. Board members and finance board representatives had the opportunity to walk through both buildings and observe firsthand the age of the facilities, infrastructure challenges, and space limitations that have been part of the ongoing discussion about the future of these schools.
Following the tours, the group convened in the Pomperaug Elementary School Library.
